No slacking

It’s a bit busy at the moment…maybe not surprisingly.
The phone doesn’t stop, people are excited (and rightly so) and everyone wants to talk.

Plenty to do trying to help Rusilip Manor FC as well, Peter met with their President today and as I understand it they are requesting a few days break from the Spartan League to get their club organised.  We wish them well and hope it will be sorted soon.

Plenty of people seem to be saying they will be coming down to help on Sunday at the ground.  My hope is that we can retain this enthusiasm for some time to come. That said Peter should be confirming what the jobs are that we need to focus on for this Sunday.  The bottom line is we need to focus on what we need to do to ensure the ground grading – but all the jobs like painting, cleaning and generally making the place look nice can wait until the warmer weather.  We need the ground ready for pre season not for February.  That said, if you can go, please do.

And then there is the non league show on Radio London (you can listen again through the site – I’m on around the 50 minute mark).  The bit I enjoyed the most was when I mentioned that we had been groundsharing for the past 17 years, hearing the audible gasps from Willy Wordsworth and Dave Anderson.  Yes guys that’s what we’ve been through and we are still here.

Hopefully for many years to come!

Originally a blog by a football club chairman, then focused on horse racing, now the random musings of someone who occasionally has something to say. Thanks for joining the conversation
