Good news from the seaside gales

Quite a day.

First the good news.  Andy Howell is going to be ok.  After landing awkwardly he complained of breathing difficulties with what was then thought to have possibly been broken ribs.  We went to the local hospital and fortunately after much waiting around (though no complaints at all about the way they took care of us) he was told there was no break.  I imagine he will be out for a few days though broken ribs would have probably meant the season.

So to the game.  A point gained or two dropped?  I’m delighted with a point, coming back from 2 down against the wind.  Lee Chappell’s goal to instantly equalise at 3-3 was a sensational strike but what a shame the same player missed in the last minute from 6 yards. We did miss plenty of chances but showed great spirit to battle back.

The last time I took Andy Howell back from a game was after the AFC Wimbledon hammering.  The form and tenacity we’ve shown in the eight games since then has been excellent.  I think two more wins should be enough with results going for us today.

We’ve had four trips to the seaside this season and not lost, with wins at Folkestone and Hastings and draws at Ramsgate and Margate.  Closer to home on Monday and whilst not expecting a repeat fo Boxing Day…it would be nice.
