All credit to Leeds United

I can’t praise our friends at Leeds United highly enough.

On Jermaine reaching 50 games for them the other day they wrote to us inviting us to invoice them for the sum in the original deal which had been triggered.  Our letter (and invoice) to them actually crossed in the post at the same time.  They followed that up by organising a bank transfer and the money was in our bank account in no time.  If only everything in life could be that smooth.

Meanwhile we have advised Leeds that we would like to play the pre-season friendly against them next summer so all being well that will be arranged in good time as well.

Looks pretty likely that Jermaine is going nowhere today so let’s hope he continues to score plenty of goals to shoot Leeds up the League One table.

  1. Praise for Leeds United? Now there’s an unusual concept!

Unfortunately, it seems as though Becks will be moving on – http://www.marchingontogether.co.cc/2009/05/26/becks-transfer-listed/ – but he’s served us well and leaves on good terms as far as I’m concerned.

Think there’ll be a few Leeds United fans that’ll curse him for refusing the new contract offer and wanting to move on, but failing to reach the Championship yet again has left him with no option really. He has to do what’s best for his career, and the opportunity to play at an higher level is something few would turn down.
